Deodorizing "DEOGLA"
Advanced Glass
About DEOGLA
The material itself has a unique deodorizing function within the glass. DEOGLA is based on powder.
Line Up
DEOGLA has two types named as TYPE 1 and TYPE 2.
DEOGLA TYPE 1 converts the odor to a different substance by a catalytic action of metal components embedded in the glass.
DEOGLA TYPE 2 is based on dissolving glass, as acid glass gradually dissolves, it neutralizes the basic odor.
Features
- As the deodorizing function is not based on absorption, the function does not decade or saturate. Due to such circumstances, deodorizing efficacy is maintained throughout the duration even after repeated test is conducted.
- Possible to combine both TYPE 1 and TYPE 2 depending on the requirements of functions.
- High heat resistance. Function does not decay even at 500 degree C.
- Function is maintained even in high humid environment.
- High level of safety.
Target Odor
- Possible to work against four kinds of major odor combining both TYPE 1 and TYPE 2.
Four Major Odors
Malodorous substance | Characteristics | Odor | Sources | Deodorizing Glass | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Type 1 | Type 2 | ||||
Ammonia NH3 |
Alkaline | Feces and urine with the irritating odor |
Sweat, Excrement, Garbage | 〇 | |
Trimethylamine (CH3)3N |
Alkaline | Rotten Fish | Garbage | 〇 | |
Hydrogen sulfide H2S |
Acidity | Rotten Egg | Excrement, Garbage |
〇 | |
Methyl mercaptan CH3SH |
Weak Acidity | Rotten Onion | Excrement, Garbage |

The Odors of Lower Fatty Acids
- DEOGLA TYPE 1 is suggested targeting;
- Acetic acid (sweat odor),
- Propionic acid (corruption smell, vomit and excreta),
- Butyric acid (sweat, horse droppings),
- Valeric acid (sweated socks and feet smell),
- Isovaleric acid (fermented cheese smell, sweated feet smell)

Test Results
Deodorizing performance against ammonia (primary)
1)Sample:Socks
2)Outline of test:The sample 100cm2 was tested in a 5L plastic bag.
The odor gas concentration in the bag was measured by a gas detecting tube time to time.
